Why Does My Provider Use AI-Assisted Documentation?
AI-assisted documentation allows your provider to focus on you during your visit — listening, examining, and talking with you — instead of typing into a computer or clicking through screens. By handling the documentation in the background, your provider can give you their full attention, spend more time addressing your concerns, and still produce thorough, accurate clinical records. The result is a better experience for you and better documentation for your care.
Also good to know (information only -- nothing to sign)
- Writing the note. Your provider uses PodScribe to turn that text into the written note for your chart. Your identifying details are removed the same way, and your provider reviews and approves every note before it becomes part of your record.
- Paperwork about your care. Your practice may also use PodScribe to read documents related to your care -- referral letters, insurance denials, explanations of benefits. No audio is involved, identifying details are removed before processing, and your provider reviews the result.
Duration & Right to Revoke
This permission remains in effect indefinitely until revoked. You may revoke it at any time by notifying your healthcare provider in writing (in person, by mail, or by secure email). Revocation takes effect upon receipt and does not affect any documentation or processing that occurred before it. If you decline, you will still be seen and treated exactly the same -- your provider will simply write the note another way. You may also give permission later by completing a new form. There is no audio to delete after your visit, because none is kept; questions about the transcript of a visit go to the practice.
For healthcare providers: You may direct your patients to this page to review data protection information and provide consent. This form can be printed, downloaded as a PDF, or completed electronically. Mark your practice's transcript setting on the form before printing it.
